Importance of peace

As with many other transcendent concepts, the definition of peace is as interesting as it is complex. Its importance is sufficiently remarkable to merit more than one possible definition, all of which are considered valid and appropriate for each context. Thus, if one opts for a positive expression, the most comprehensive meaning of peace is that which considers it with a stable state of balance in the personal and the social. This way of defining peace is analogous to other relevant and difficult concepts, as described with health or well-being. But sometimes it may be simpler to conceive peace in a paradoxically negative sense, that is, as the absence of war or violence. In coincidence, in international treaties it has been postulated that peace is an agreement between areas or nations to terminate a war conflict.
